Research

We study how humans, in the face of uncertainty, gather and combine different sources of information when making decisions.

To understand the computations carried out during the decision-making process, we
(1) develop models rooted in mathematical statistics (statistical and Bayesian decision theory) and psychology (e.g. prospect theory) that provide predictions at the behavioral and neural levels.
(2) use functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to investigate the related neural architecture and mechanisms.
